Healing Roots

At Healing Roots  we are aware of the multiple realities  that impact and shape an individuals life experience, gender, socioeconomic status, citizenship, ethnicity, religion and culture. Healing Roots applies evidence based practices as well as other holistic approaches to wellness to support you in navigating through multiple forms of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship/couple challenges, family strain and any form of self identified traumatic experience.

Clinical approaches

Narrative Therapy

Provides a space for you to honor and share your story and empowers you to create a new narrative where old paradigms are no longer serving you.

Holistic Therapy

Addresses the "whole" person, body, mind and spirit. It integrates the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional forms of wellbeing. It supports you in exploring your roots, what your ancestors used for healing and guides you in reclaiming lost parts of yourself. 

Psychodynamic/Depth Psychology

Focuses on the psychological roots of emotional suffering. It explores intergenerational/ancestral traumas and strengths and how they have played a role in their present life providing individuals with the opportunity to heal and reclaim themselves. 

Trauma-Focused

Trauma leaves an imprint not only in the mind, but also in the body and spirit. Trauma focused therapy provides a safe and compassionate space to process those experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we will explore how past events may be shaping your present, while cultivating tools to regulate the nervous system, build resilience, and restore a sense of safety.

EMDR

 EMDR is a trauma focused therapy that helps the brain and body process challenging memories in a safe and supported way. Instead of staying stuck in old patterns or distress, EMDR allows you to reprocess experiences so they no longer hold the same emotional charge.
